The project

A little kindness goes a long way.

Song for Hope is a festive music video about spreading joy and love. Composed by Aram Gregory, the song follows a boy who hears a message of kindness and carries it into his adult life. We wanted the film to feel warm and welcoming, with a story that gives that message room to breathe.

We handled the creative direction, treatment, character designs, storyboards and animation, bringing the film together in Adobe Animate and After Effects. A small cast, soft textures and a colourful winter setting give the song a world of its own, from quiet moments with a mouse to a community coming together.

Characters with warmth.

The story moves from childhood into adulthood, with the yellow coat connecting the two. Around our central character, we designed a small community with different shapes, ages and personalities. The mouse and robin bring another scale to the story, making its small acts of kindness easy to see.

A world for the song.

Pink skies, deep blues and green hills give the winter scenes a softer feel. We carried the same simple shapes and textured finish through the harbour, bedroom and snowy countryside, so each setting feels part of the same story.

Small moments. Shared meaning.

The treatment and storyboards follow the song’s message through a series of encounters. Sharing food with a mouse, stopping to listen and joining hands make kindness part of the action. Those moments keep the film personal, even as the world around the character opens up.

Bringing it all together.

We animated the film in Adobe Animate and After Effects, keeping the movement in tune with the music and the illustrated style. Falling snow, changing light and flowing shapes connect the scenes, while the characters’ gestures keep the feeling warm and human.
